Timely Warning

The Brown University Department of Public Safety provides this notice in compliance with the Timely Notice provision of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

Incident

On Monday, May 30th, 2022, just after midnight, the Brown University Department of Public Safety was notified of an assault involving two members of the Brown University community. Two community members were walking on George Street near the intersection of Brown Street when a dark SUV drove by, and a rear passenger fired a projectile striking one of the community members in the left arm. The community member was not injured. This matter is under investigation by the Providence Police Department. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Providence Police Department at 401-272-3121 or the Brown University Department of Public Safety at 401-863-3322.
