Police Oversight and Accountability
We use the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) as an external entity to audit the work of our department and ensure community input on our policies, procedures, and practices.
We are a nationally accredited police department through the (CALEA), which administers a rigorous accreditation process whereby law enforcement agencies must adhere to over 480 standards, codes, and policing best practices. Each year, the department must keep records to demonstrate its work in meeting these standards.
