Timely Warning
The Brown University Department of Public Safety provides this notice in compliance with the Timely Notice provision of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
Incident
On Monday, June 13, 2022, at approximately 8:00 pm, the Brown University Department of Public Safety responded to an assault of a Brown University student. The student was walking near the intersection of Thayer and Bowen Streets when a light-colored vehicle, which was stopped at the stop sign on Bowen Street facing westbound, lowered the driver’s side window. The occupant(s) of the vehicle fired a projectile that struck the community member in the head. The vehicle was last seen heading west on Bowen Street. The community member was not injured. This matter is under investigation by the Providence Police Department. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Providence Police Department at 401-272-3121 or the Brown University Department of Public Safety at 401-863-3322.
