Timely Warning

The Brown University Department of Public Safety provides this notice in compliance with the Timely Notice provision of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

Incident

On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at approximately 8:50 pm, the Brown University Department of Public Safety was notified of an assault involving a member of the Brown University community. A community member was walking in front of 306 Thayer Street when a dark SUV drove by, and an unknown passenger fired a projectile striking the community member in the right arm. The community member was not injured. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Thayer Street. This matter is under investigation by the Providence Police Department. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Providence Police Department at 401-272-3121 or the Brown University Department of Public Safety at 401-863-3322.
