Timely Warning
The Brown University Department of Public Safety provides this notice in compliance with the Timely Notice provision of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
Incident
On, Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at approximately 1:30 am in the area of Thayer Street between Meeting and Cushing Streets, the Brown University Department of Public Safety was flagged down by an unaffiliated person, who wished to report that he had been assaulted and robbed of his vehicle. The person was walking from a restaurant when he was attacked from behind and struck in the head several times by an unknown assailant. The assailant was demanding that the victim hand over his car keys. The victim eventually complied and the suspect fled the scene with his vehicle, a white Dodge Charger. The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention. The vehicle was recovered a short time later in Norwood, MA. This matter is under investigation by the Providence Police Department.
