Timely Warning
The Brown University Department of Public Safety provides this notice in compliance with the Timely Notice provision of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
Incident
On Sunday, October 23, 2022, at approximately 0332, the Brown University Department of Public Safety was notified of a Robbery involving two members of the Brown University community. Both community members were walking east on Power Street towards Thayer Street when they were confronted by eight young males, all wearing hooded apparel. The group circled the two community members. One of the young males reached his hand into his waistband and demanded the two community members empty their pockets. The two community members complied, and ultimately nothing was taken. The eight unknown young males were last seen running toward Thayer Street. This matter is under investigation by the Providence Police Department. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Providence Police Department at 401-272-3121 or the Brown University Department of Public Safety at 401-863-3322.
