Emergency Action Plan

The Brown EAP was developed to ensure the safety of Students, Faculty, Staff and visitors in the event of a fire or other emergency. The EAP provides information on evacuation procedures, emergency contact information, hostile intruder guidance, sheltering in place and fire prevention

The Brown University Emergency Action Plan  details the actions and procedures to be followed in an emergency, and assigns responsibility for certain actions to designated individuals.

The Emergency Action Plan provides procedures for building evacuation, reporting emergencies, locating emergency evacuation locations, personnel accountability, fire extinguisher types and instructions for use, shelter in place procedures, emergency communications and building specific information.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Emergency Action Plan Training is a web-based training which can be completed online through Workday or TrainCaster.  This training will focus on topics related to emergencies both inside and outside of buildings. The training includes:

  • Emergency evacuation procedures
  • Reporting emergencies
  • Emergency evacuation locations
  • Personnel accountability
  • Fire prevention awareness
  • Fire extinguishers and their use
  • Emergency medical procedures
  • Shelter-in-place procedures
  • Hostile Intruder procedures
  • Emergency communications
