Be the Help Until Help Arrives

Be the Help Until Help Arrives is a program designed to educate and empower the public to take action in emergency situations and provide lifesaving care before professional help arrives.

Life-threatening emergencies can happen fast and emergency responders aren't always nearby. You may be able to save a life by taking simple actions immediately. At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Use simple and effective skills to save lives.
  • Communicate with 9-1-1 operators effectively.
  • Act to protect the injured from further harm.
  • Position the injured.
  • Stop life-threatening bleeding.
  • Provide emotional support.

Stop the Bleed

Stop the Bleed is a federal initiative to prepare the public to save lives during life-threatening bleeding emergencies. A life-threatening bleed will take someone’s life within minutes unless there is someone to stop it. Learn basic bleeding control techniques and be empowered to save a life until first responders arrive.

“ Your session was the most enjoyable one I have attended in my 5 years at Brown. Not to mention potentially life-saving! Thank you for doing such a candid, real world, informative and entertaining job. I will certainly recommend any presentation you are giving. ”
